A downloadable soundtrack

ENTRY

This is my first time entering a jam of any kind, and I have to say it was so very worth the time and effort I poured into this small project just over the weekend! I wanted the tracks to have a visual novel-esque feel to them, hence the lack of repetition (but that's mostly due to my style alone). I used a combination of Musescore and FLStudio for this project, with Musescore for the orchestral arrangements, and FLStudio for cleanups and more electronic works. Blending orchestral elements with electronic elements has always been something I've found very interesting, as the two worlds are so vastly different yet can surprisingly work harmoniously together if done right. :) I'm also a sucker for nostalgic and tragic emotions in soundtracks, and I hope that shows in the tracks!

Genres would be instrumental, orchestral, and electronic, and this soundtrack runs for around 7 minutes total.

Artwork is also done by me, as I want to convey the story I had in mind not just through music, but through the art cover as well.

THEME

The given theme was "palindrome" in which musical notes played forward would also be played backwards and sound pleasant, or coherent to the ears. I tried to incorporate this by reversing whatever main melody I created, then attempt to blend the melody in with a completely new set of harmonies and gradually build the track from there. The most challenging part would've been figuring out the harmonies alone, as they can at times clash against the melody, something I although appreciate very much in music is not what I want in this particular project.

Another interpretation of mine for the theme was for the "palindrome" aspect to represent the idea of reminiscing on the past, traversing back in time through your memories though the tune sounds different at times as your memory isn't completely perfect, some parts may even be flawed or misleading. I do have a loose idea for the "game" plot, but I want the tracks to mostly be open to interpretation.
